Welcome to the Thirsty Boyz League. Boo-Ya Baby!

 

We are an employee founded league that plays Thursday afternoons at Clifton Park Golf Course. League participants pay an afternoon league rate fee to begin play in the early afternoon, and we each donate $10.00 to keep things interesting. We play all year long, except for Thanksgiving Day. Since 2010, the Thirsty Boyz have been known for great golf with good friends. The following is a run down of the competitions held each week.

 

Tees

Gentlemen 61 and younger play the white tees.

Gentlemen 62 and older play from the yellow tees.

Ladies may play from the red tees.

 

Member Competitions

Members in good standing with the league are able to compete in a number of competitions each week.

Team Quota: This is a blind draw team competition where both team members try to earn as many points as possible. Competitors receive 1 point for bogey, 2 points for par, 3 points for a birdie, 4 points for an eagle, and 5 points for more than two under par. Teams receive 100% of their handicap and the payouts are based on the field size.

Individual Net: This is an individual stroke competition. Players receive 100% of their handicap and the payouts are based on the field size.

Thirsty Boyz Ace: If a member cards a gross hole in one during league play, they will receive a $200.00 bonus for the excellent shot. Hopefully this will cover the bar tab. Boo-Ya!

Thirsty Boyz Tournaments: Thirsty Boyz League members in good standing will receive invitations to the Roger Levasseur Memorial held in the spring, and the Boo-Ya! Championship held in the fall.

Thirsty Boyz Cup: From March through August members will compete for points. The 24 members with the most points, and 4 alternates, will receive an invitation to play four weeks of team match play for the honor of placing their names on the Thirsty Boyz Cup trophy.

 

Field Competitions

Individual Skins: Individual competitors compete for a share of the skins pool. To earn a skin, one competitor must post a better score than the rest of the field. Competitors receive 50% of their handicap and the payouts are based on field size and the number of skins awarded.

CTP: Each week players have a chance to win a closest to the pin on at least two different holes. One hole will be a par 3 and the other hole will be a par 4. To win, the ball must be on the green and closer to the hole than the entire field. Par 3 holes are measured after the first shot, and par 4 holes are measured after the second shot. Most times we play 4 holes. Payouts are based on the field size.

 

Off Season Competition

During the off season, November through February, members and guests will play individual skins. Members will receive 50% of their handicaps, guests will play scratch.

 

Guests may join the Thirsty Boyz League after playing two events with the league.

 

Access to early registration is only available through the Thirsty Boyz League website. Early registration for events closes on Tuesdays before the event. Pairings and tee times will be posted the day before the event. New players may add their name to the roster by calling the Clifton Park pro shop before 12:00 noon on the day of the event.
